Job Overview
The Learning Experience is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Specialist to support the development and construction of new childcare centers nationwide.

This role partners with Pre-Construction, Construction Managers, Developers, General Contractors, Architects, and internal stakeholders to help keep projects on schedule from lease execution through project closeout. The Construction Project Specialist plays a key role in project tracking, reporting, permitting, communication, and documentation while helping ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate has experience in commercial construction, project coordination, development, or construction administration and enjoys managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Construction Project Coordination
  • Support active construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout
  • Assist in establishing project milestones and maintaining project schedules
  • Track project progress and communicate schedule updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate project communication between Developers, General Contractors, Architects, and corporate teams
  • Support project kickoff meetings, OAC meetings, and construction progress meetings
  • Produce project dashboards, reports, and updates using Monday.com and Procore
Permitting and Project Tracking
  • Monitor entitlement, permitting, inspection, and approval milestones
  • Track project progress toward Certificate of Occupancy and center opening deadlines
  • Identify potential project risks and assist with mitigation planning
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation throughout the construction lifecycle
Project Closeout
  • Track punch list completion and project turnover activities
  • Coordinate collection of warranties, closeout documents, and operations manuals
  • Support the transition of completed projects to Operations teams
  • Verify completion of required turnover and project closeout documentation
Process Improvement and Systems
  • Maintain project templates, reports, and standardized documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within the Construction team
  • Assist with implementation of new tools, systems, and reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve project tracking, communication, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, project coordination, construction administration, or development
  • Experience working with General Contractors, Developers, Architects, and project teams
  • Understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, and project documentation
  • Experience with Procore, Monday.com, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar project management platforms preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and strong follow-through
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting retail, educational, childcare, or commercial construction projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress toward certification
