Department: People Operations
Salary: $65-75k
This role is the backbone of our People Operations tech stack. The HRIS Specialist owns the accuracy, flow, and integrity of employee data across HR, payroll, and benefits systems. You’ll keep everything running smoothly so employees, managers, and leaders get a seamless experience.
- Manage day-to-day HRIS operations across employee records, benefits, onboarding, time & attendance, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate employee data for hires, job changes, pay updates, and terminations.
- Configure workflows, permissions, automations, dashboards, and system rules.
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and partner with vendors or internal teams to resolve system errors.
- Build recurring and ad-hoc HR, payroll, and compliance reports.
- Perform ongoing data audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clean integrations.
- Support integrations with payroll, benefits carriers, and third-party HR tools.
- Identify process gaps and partner with HR/People Ops to streamline workflows.
- Review and validate payroll data as part of a shared payroll team model.
- Audit timekeeping entries, pay codes, and employee updates for accuracy.
- Validate hires, rate changes, promotions, deductions, and terminations before payroll runs.
- Support adjustments including retro pay, corrections, and manual entries.
- Handle payroll reporting, reconciliations, and employee inquiries.
- Provide excellent service to employees and managers on payroll-related questions.
- Support benefits administration within the HRIS, including eligibility, life events, and enrollment validation.
- Ensure clean data flow between HRIS, payroll, and external vendors.
- Assist with Open Enrollment setup, testing, communication, and reporting.
- Resolve discrepancies in partnership with the Benefits team.
- Help employees navigate benefits options and system access.
- 3+ years in HRIS, payroll, benefits, or People Operations.
- Experience with any major HRIS/payroll platform (Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Workday, etc.).
- Strong understanding of HR, payroll, and benefits data flow.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUP, audit formulas).
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
